The Concept

The format is Japanese.
The food is not.

An izakaya is a way of serving, not a cuisine. Small plates. Ordered in waves. Everything shared. Drinks first, and they keep coming.

Lao food was already built that way — grilled on skewers, eaten with sticky rice and a bowl of jeow, over a long night and a lot of beer. We just gave it the room it belongs in.

What we took from the izakaya

  • Small plates, priced to keep ordering
  • Food that arrives when it's ready, not in courses
  • Everything meant to be shared
  • A long sitting, on purpose

What we left behind

  • Japanese flavors — not one
  • Fusion dishes
  • Borrowed sauces and seasonings
  • Heat turned down to widen the room

The Grill

Everything starts over charcoal.

The grill sits in the middle of the room because it is the middle of the restaurant. Beef, chicken, pork, fish, shrimp and sai oua go on skewers in the morning and over the coals all night.

You'll smell it from the sidewalk before you read the sign. That's the intention.

Drinks

Cold, fast, and
never far away.

The Room

A taproom that
happens to cook.

Game On

Every screen, every night.

Set for the bar and the high-tops. A restaurant with the game on, not a sports bar with food.

Scan & Go

Order from the table.

Scan the code, order, keep ordering. No waiting on a check, no waiting to start.

Loud, Not Deafening

You can still hear each other.

Busy and warm, and still a room you can hold a conversation in. Sake bombs set the pace.
